Wearing glasses and Coronavirus

It has occurred to me that of the 20-30 or so people I've known of to have got Coronavirus over the past year (online as well as in person) not one wears glasses full time/when out....

Surely there has to be some protective gain by wearing glasses?
Have there been any studies on this?

Correlation does not imply causation...

not very scientific though

In theory I suppose perhaps it is less likely for it to get in through the eyeballs (but not impossible as lenses don't cover the entire eye from all angles, but probably counteracted by the fact that those who wear glasses are more likely to fiddle with them, touch their face to adjust them etc. I guess it's about proportion as well, whether there's a smaller % who wear glasses and so there will be less affected etc.

I love this, so interesting that wearing glasses could make a difference to virus transmission.
