Bitter taste in mouth and/or white bumps on tongue?

Evening. I’m waiting for my test result (only tested this morning) as I developed a cough and strange hot/flushed feeling since the weekend. Tonight I’ve noticed a really horrible bitter taste in my mouth and my tongue is all coated white with spots/bumps right at the back when I look in the mirror. Is this a familiar sign of covid for anyone? I haven’t really been anywhere so unsure where I could have picked it up!

My in laws both complained of a metallic horrible taste in their mouths when they had it. Hope you are doing ok.

Might be an infection

If you test negative, you might want to speak to doctor about antibiotics

Do your tonsils hurt? I used to get this with tonsillitis.

Wish you better asap.

Thanks both. No, my tonsils don’t hurt but then I don’t have any! Just hoping for a negative but have a fever too this morning so looking less likely I think Sad.

Oh if you don't have any, it might be a throat infection.

Hope you feel better soon.

I got my test result within 22 hours so hopefully you'll hear soon.

My tongue felt like I had burnt it when I had covid. Not metallic taste just a a strange taste and feeling.
Things tasted strange but could still taste them and things smelled horrible.
