There is another thread about this but it doesn't have an obvious title and the conversation there is mostly about how naive we were back then.
It would be good to also have a thread to simply acknowledge this first victim and the almost 2 million people who have died since then (and the many many others whose deaths were not recorded) and to take a step back from all the numbers and case rates and bla bla and remember that every one of them was a person with a life and with thoughts and dreams and hopefully with people who loved and cared about them, and who will miss them.
for everyone who has lost someone they love.
