If you have covid - how did you catch it?

Apologies if this has already been discussed. I was wondering whether those who have unfortunately caught covid know how they came about catching it?

The only place I’d been was the supermarket so it must have been from there. I was religious about mask wearing and hand washing too.

Work. I work in a school. I had not been anywhere else or seen anyone outside my own household for about 3 weeks prior to positive test. We have supermarket deliveries, dh works from home and leaves the house only to exercise on his own. Both kids were home from school because their bubbles had burst and they were online learning for the last 3 weeks of term. The only realistic place for me to catch it was work.

my great grandad was taken into hospital after a heart attack where he caught it and was sent home with it. he then came home and it spread through the family. in all me and my partner, our 13 year old, my mum and dad, sister, aunt, grandma, and grandad had it. my great grandad was taken back into hospital after struggling to breathe and ultimately died of it.

I'm assuming either school or the supermarket as I'm a teacher and wasn't going anywhere else.

Dia12 · 10/01/2021 15:15

I'm sorry about the loss of your grandfather @sunshineandshowers21. Were you all in one bubble?

We are taking the restrictions very seriously but DH is a key worker and going out to the grocery store is unavoidable.
I always ensure I'm wearing gloves and mask when out shopping and was beginning to think the risk of catching it like that was quite low. Having read some the replies, perhaps not.

There are a lot of other threads asking this, I don't know what would be the best way to find them but I've seen this come up it seems like every day, probably not as often as that it just feels like it but if you're gathering information it might be worth scrolling down the thread titles. I think they will be easy to pick out.

I’m a teacher and I caught it at school.

Outbreak of 30 at DP's place of work. He brought it home to me. One of his close friends died at the age of 56.

From my daughter who caught it at school from either of the three other kids in her class that came down with it or the first teacher to get it at her school who was teaching across the year groups at the time.

And your kids tested negative?
