....Just having a debate with DH, he thinks Boris will have had the jab, I think he will have to wait for his turn...

I doubt it. Jumping the queue is not a good look when most of the country already think there’s one rule for us and one rule for them.

WhyDoesItAlwaysRainMe · 09/01/2021 16:14

That's what I thought but DH seems to think we will have definitely had it

OP posts:
IceCreamAndCandyfloss · 09/01/2021 16:15

I think they should give it to those like him such as Matt Hancock and the scientists working on the crisis.

MrsSugar · 09/01/2021 16:16

I reckon he’s had it. Can’t see him waiting his turn. Not like he’s given two fucks about the vulnerable up to now anyway

Butterymuffin · 09/01/2021 16:16

While I really dislike him personally, and think he's a shit PM, as a general principle I do think the PM should get vaccinated as a priority in a situation like this. Because in theory we're all better off if they're functioning well and not down with illness (I know, I know)'

What interests me more is how his dad Stanley has already managed to get his full course of two vaccination shots. That is just ridiculous favouritism.

Lockdownbear · 09/01/2021 16:18

Doubt it, someone would have blabbed.
Queen and P Philip have only just had theirs.

refusetobeasheep · 09/01/2021 16:22

No. Because if we find out he and others in the government have jumped ahead of their priority spot, it really will mean the end of all compliance from the people! Was talking about this yesterday as my US colleagues were saying how their lawmakers have been given priority .. it just would not fly over here.

DOINGOURBIT · 09/01/2021 16:22

Can you catch Covid twice? He was very ill with it. So would anyone who's had Covid, need a vaccination at all?

MushMonster · 09/01/2021 16:25

I do hope they had it, as they need to lead the nation!

Well..... thinking twice..... not sure they are leading the nationConfused

Seriously now, I would like them to be vaccinated as soon as possible indeed.

Phyz · 09/01/2021 16:28

I suspect Boris has been suffering the effects of covid since he came out of hospital and may well have immunity.

Nappyvalley15 · 09/01/2021 16:29

No. He has access to antibody testing and so probably knows he is immune for now. I expect he will have it when supplies are perceived as more plentiful before his immunity wanes.

Calmandmeasured1 · 09/01/2021 16:47

No way will he have had the vaccine. For the poster who said the Queen and Prince Phillip have only just had theirs, there will have been a delay to ensure no unexpected adverse effects.

Scottishgirl85 · 09/01/2021 17:42

To be fair to him, I think he should get it ASAP. We need a functioning PM, love him or hate him.

natalienewname · 09/01/2021 18:06

No. He'll wait his turn like everyone else. I'm not a fan, I think he's a pretty dire PM, but I don't think he'd jump the queue, or that he's countenance anyone suggesting he should.

Don't forget, we Brits love an orderly queue.

WhyDoesItAlwaysRainMe · 09/01/2021 18:29

I'm not a fan of Boris but I do think he should have been given priority

OP posts:
peak2021 · 09/01/2021 18:37

He has had the virus so I doubt it given that and his age. If he had and it became public knowledge there would be an outcry.

feelingverylazytoday · 09/01/2021 18:39

No, why would he?

Jammygal · 09/01/2021 18:42

I would have thought he would definitely have had the first jab as would Matt Hancock and co . They won’t risk getting it a second time - sometimes it’s worse and Bozzer could end up pegging it

DianaT1969 · 09/01/2021 18:46

The Daily Fail reported that Jonathan Van Tam had a restaurant curry on a particular day in the first lockdown. They're trawling through their expenses. He isn't even a politician 😃🤷

Thimbleberries · 09/01/2021 18:48

In some countries, politicians who are important to the covid response are higher in the vaccine priority lists, along with health care workers, care homes, elderly, etc. I understand the rationale really, even though it sticks in the craw a bit to think that they get priority treatment. Realistically, we need a 'functioning' government, and although I'd debate just how 'functioning' this lot are, they are all we have at the moment, and disrupting that would cause a lot more panic and uncertaintly, which isn't good for anyone.

middleager · 09/01/2021 18:53

I don't know, maybe. If the opportunity presented itself then I think he'd take it.

A family member, 60, had a Vaccination yesterday as her daughter works in a GP surgery and there were a couple of unclaimed doses at the surgery. If people get the chance, they'll take it.

changingnamesandkeepingsane · 09/01/2021 21:45

I would hope they'd give it to the MPs who are out and about come hell or highwater and without whom the country might grind to a halt. I doubt they have though.

TheCountessofFitzdotterel · 09/01/2021 21:49

No, he has every reason to think he’s immune and he’s an optimist.

Tenyearsgone · 09/01/2021 21:51

Of course he has.

Theunamedcat · 09/01/2021 21:53

I hope they are keeping an eye on his antibodies as much as I dislike him He needs to stay healthy to run the country
