Will government change the rules on children classed as vulnerable?

My son has an ehcp, has asd and attends a specialist unit. During the last lockdown we weren’t allowed to send them if we were working from home. We struggled as I was working full time but mainly as ds struggles with change of routine, not being able to go out etc and it really effected his behaviour quite badly. I took some half days annual leave which made things slightly more doable and we got through it somehow as did many others. We did no home education as ds wouldn’t engage but school were relaxed and said not to worry. This time we’ve been allowed to send them in as they have ehcps so are classed as vulnerable children. Just over half have kept them off anyway within the unit for various reasons of their own and ds has been managing well after a difficult Christmas holiday. I’ve been reading loads about too many kids being in school. Do you think they’ll change the vulnerable children definition also? I couldn’t sleep last night worrying how we’ll get through again

No. Arguably vulnerable kids such as those with EHCPs and SEN which prevents effective home learning should be higher priority than the vast majority of critical workers.

I know my DDs school are prioritising vulnerable kids about CW

I really hope so although it definately wasn’t the case during or after the first lockdown. Not us personally but I’ve heard of loads of families where there sen kids weren’t even allowed back when other kids in their year went back for the last half term before summer due to risk assessments being used to prevent them, either saying they wouldn’t be able to social distance or that their 1-1s were being used to supervise other bubbles.
