I would say going into restaurants and going on holiday

Commuting into the office (I was never one to eat out and cannot remember the last time I went abroad for a holiday!)

MadameBlobby · 08/01/2021 20:42

I’m not “content” to sacrifice anything.

Accepting it as necessary doesn’t equate to being content. This is a miserable, joyless existence in every way.

GreekOddess · 08/01/2021 20:43

Working in the office.

Letting people into my house

DenisetheMenace · 08/01/2021 20:47

Ditto.
Nice but can survive without.

TwilightToStarlight · 08/01/2021 20:48

Hmmmm that's quite a tricky one! There isn't anything I'm overjoyed about not being able to do tbh. If I was still working and not a SAHM, I'm sure I'd be happy not to have to do the train commute every day, especially in the very cold weather.

I can live without pubs and restaurants, because we don't use them all that often anyway (young dcs), but I miss them all the same. We also don't tend to go abroad on holiday, but we haven't even managed a uk holiday this year, so I'm sad about that.

RJnomore1 · 08/01/2021 20:49

Content? Nothing. It’s entirely pish.

Am I doing it? Yes. Am I content? No, I am not. Every liberty every choice I give up makes me uncomfortable and the fact others are content or even worse seem happy as I’ve seen on other threads makes me deeply deeply uncomfortable.

CousinKrispy · 08/01/2021 20:49

Working in the office. And going to kids birthday parties, I have to admit!

Flowersinthewindowstill · 08/01/2021 20:50

Commute to work
In-person GP appointments for things like renewing prescription etc.

Selmaselma · 08/01/2021 20:50

Parent's evening in school

Hotcuppatea · 08/01/2021 20:50

Office Christmas party. I was delighted to dodge that.

Coasterfan · 08/01/2021 20:51

Trekking 1000 miles a week around the country for work. And currently the school run that takes a minimum of two hours out of my day!!

AllDoneIn · 08/01/2021 20:51

The only positive has been saving some money but that's because we can't do any of the things that normally make life enjoyable.

AlohaMolly · 08/01/2021 20:52

I would continue sacrificing everything we currently are plus some more if DS4, only child, could go to school as normal. J wouldn’t be content about it though.

oohmyback · 08/01/2021 20:54

Not feeling obliged to socialise. I love being on my own....with 3 kids of course lol

annevonkleve · 08/01/2021 20:56

Commuting into the office - not much of a sacrifice really as I get more sleep and save a lot of money!

Lemonpiano · 08/01/2021 20:57

Is it a sacrifice if you're content to give it up?

AuntieStella · 08/01/2021 20:58

Not having people back to mine [slattern]

TwilightToStarlight · 08/01/2021 20:58

Yes, good one! The gp is a lot easier not in person.
FalseAlarm1 · 08/01/2021 21:00

I’m happy to sacrifice sledging - but it’s seems as there’s not many others who would!

BlackeyedSusan · 08/01/2021 21:02

Afternoon school run. They walk to ex's house or home on their own. If I don't collect them ex brings them back eventually. Grin
