Can my partner get universal credit if I’m on furlough?

Partners shop has been shut again in line with national restrictions (3rd time.) He has been receiving self employment universal credit.

I was on leave but upon my return to work was furloughed, and my partner seems to think he now can’t claim universal credit because I am on furlough.

Does anyone know if this is the case? I don’t see why it would be! I would guess they just take into account my income when assessing the amount he will receive?

It depends on a number of factors such as your household income number of kids in the house. There are a number of benifits calculators which will allow you to work this out such as this one
