For those who had “mild” Covid

Lost my sense of taste/smell on 20th Dec.
Tested on 22nd.
Results took ages to come through- positive on 28th.
Isolation ended on Nee Years Day.
I felt tired and had cold symptoms and a bit of nausea but felt ok by 1 Jan. This past Tuesday I have started to feel extremely nauseous and headaches that feel like a vice. I’ve been in bed all week and sleeping a lot. Have any of you had covid “mildly” then felt ok for a couple of days before feeling ill again?

Yes. Sadly I think it's quite common.

Fifipop185 · 07/01/2021 23:51

Same here. Very mild symptoms at first which were manageable and then full on temperature and headaches 5 days later. Never lost taste or smell (or appetite Blush) Still thankful it wasn't worse and we are all clear now.

NotaCoolMum · 07/01/2021 23:58

I’m glad you’re all clear now @Fifipop185. I never had the cough or chesty symptoms at all. No two people seem to get it the same way. 💐

Thank you for your response @NovemberR- hope you’re recovered now.💐

Sadly not...I think I'm now in long Covid..utterly wiped out and exhausted most days.I'm about 12 weeks from positive test now and it's not improving.

GP says post viral fatigue from Covid. And yet I would say I wasn't particularly poorly with the actual virus. I felt tired and aching for a few days...then a bit better..then lousy week two.

Since then I've just been sleeping mostly and very tired. I do hope you feel better soon. DH had symptoms like yours and he was fine by week four so I don't want to worry you. I think, as you say, everyone is utterly different and you just have to rest and hope!

NotaCoolMum · 08/01/2021 00:07

@Countdowntonothing it’s awful isn’t it? I started back at work on Monday and although I felt a bit rubbish I pushed through. By Tuesday there was no physical way to keep going so I’ve been off work again. I’m hoping to go back next Monday... I’m glad you’re feeling better now 💐

@NovemberR I’m so sorry you’re still suffering. It’s so hard and I think people just assume you get it, are sick for a couple of weeks and then you’re over it. I’m like you as my symptoms when I actually tested positive were quite mild. It’s the aftermath that’s wiped me out. I really hope you feel better soon x

Yep, started off with bad headache, body aches and fatigue. This lasted for about a week after testing positive. After isolation ended I started to feel irritable, confused, achey and more fatigued than I have ever felt before. Chest pain also started after isolation which just made it painful to breathe.

Hi ladies did anyone have lower back pain like a pulled muscle or sciatica

NotaCoolMum · 08/01/2021 00:24

@PapercraftNinja hope you’re feeling better now!

@Ele38 I had a bizarre symptom in my lower back (felt like a shooting pain in my back passage and going to the toilet hurt!😳)

Yes definitely my first symptom..excruciating lower back ache. I had a routine test result 2 days later...Christmas day😩Backache was my main symptom !!
switchitup99 · 08/01/2021 00:41

April for me so no test

DP lost smell and taste.

I got a stabbing back pain. Exhaustion. 10 days in bed and I'm really fit and healthy. No energy.

No particular lasting symptoms. I had Glandular Fever as a teen. Very unwell with repeated relapses of being very unwell - a well known and researched post viral syndrome.

Well after recovery I've had repeated Glandular Fever attacks. Post viral syndrome galore.

Can I recommend coenzyme q10.

I used it then and I've taken it every day since April. It has helped I'm sure.

@NotaCoolMum. Thanks..and I really hope you feel better soon. My best advice is to rest as much as possible. 💐. I did ask GP if I should try to do a bit more each day and he said absolutely not! That people too often feel ok, do a bit too much, or feel rough but try to keep going and the result is that they wipe themselves out and put their recovery back a few steps. Don't go back to work until you feel 100% I would say.

@Ele38 yes...backache and aching limbs. Mine is lower back and also bra strap area! I keep asking DH if it looks like I've got a disc out because it's so painful.

switchitup99 · 08/01/2021 00:50

Yes bra strap stabbing back pain. Very unusual - nothing like it ever before or since

AdoraBell · 08/01/2021 00:51

I think we had it last February. Immense headache, raging sore throat but because I had a cough almost constantly since the previous October I didn’t have a new dry cough. Felt feverish but never above 36.9. Then I lost sense of taste and smell.

DH had the same, started roughly 3 days before me, then DD1. Her tempt varied between 32 and 36. We bought a new thermometer and yes, the first one was working properly. At that stage neither lack of smell/taste nor sore throat were listed as symptoms. Also, tests were not available.

I’m still exhausted, DH is but too but still pushes himself. He had an antibody test about 9 months after being ill and that showed no antibodies. DD seems to have bounced right back, she’s late teens.

AdoraBell · 08/01/2021 00:53

I hadn’t seen the question re back pain.

Yes, I and DD, but both of us have spinal issues so didn’t think it was unusual at that stage.
