I had it mid November and my sense of smell still hasn’t returned. I was told it would take 2/3 weeks.

Has anyone had a similar experience?

I lost my sense of taste and smell on 20th Dec and I’ve started to be able to taste and smell again now. I know for some people it can take months x

NotaCoolMum glad to hear yours has returned.

I can taste and I’m beginning to be able to smell things but I know it’s not fully returned.

Mine took about six weeks (roughly, I wasn't marking calendar days off or anything but my sense is it was about that kind of duration).

It was incremental though, it came back gradually over time. I remember walking into a room where DH had a scented candle burning (don't ask...) and I could smell it. I'd been previously ranting about how they had the audacity to charge £50 for something that didn't smell of anything...

I lost my sense of taste too but that came back after about a week.

My sister had covid in September and hers hasn’t returned.

I had it 9 months ago and my sense of smell is still impaired. It's improved but definitely not back to normal.

BaconAndAvocado · 08/01/2021 10:18

Yes I would say mine is slightly better now but definitely impaired.

Missing being able to smell my perfumes properly.

Ill end of October, slight sense of smell about day 11, back fully after 3/4 weeks.
