Worried about chemo and not being vaccinated in time.

My DH just got diagnosed with cancer today and will need chemo before surgery.
I'm so very worried about when he might get the vaccine. He is classed as ECV as it due to another random thing that doesnt effect his health but would effect his response to covid. So as he is 40 he would be in the 4 category of ecv. Chemo also puts you in that category. However that probably means a month/ month and a half before his turn by which time he would have started the chemo!
I wish he could be done now, before the chemo kicks in. He is obviously sheilding but I guess he will need to go the hospital more for the chemo and radiotherapy and I wish he was protected before then.
There is no chance that the hospitals give the vaccine to people before chemo is there?
This is such a scary time to get this diagnosis!

Do you have a cancer care nurse you can ask? If not I would ring his oncologists secretary and ask the question. Good luck with the chemo!

I don't have an answer but I'm really sorry you're going through this.
