Painful and itchy toes

I had a sore throat a day or so ago and my back and knees were hurting. Had chills but no fever when I took my temperature. No cough. And I haven’t lost my taste or smell.
But today my toes are extremely itchy and sore. One of them is a little swollen and red too. I’ve read about ‘covid toes’ before so I’m now thinking do I need to get a test? Even though I don’t have the main symptoms that make me eligible for one.

It's the only symptom my dd had, it develops after the infectious stage according to the internet, she's had it 3 months!

Sure it's not chilblains?

Porcupineintherough · 06/01/2021 22:42

Covid toes look and feel like chillblains. Either test or isolate as though you've got it OP. Good luck x

Calmandmeasured1 · 06/01/2021 22:50

Get a test and isolate, at least until you have the results.

Inacoldclimate · 06/01/2021 22:53

It could be chilblains as I remember I used to get them as a child, but not for a long time now.
I will isolate and get a test. Still got a bit of a sore throat.

Yes test. I had Covid 3.months ago. I now. Have chilblains or covid toes.as you describe. Not sure which.

My son got a chilblain about a month ago....I didn't know what it was and my first though was covid toes. The pharmacist told me what it was. He has since had a test and was negative. (He's also had another chilblain appear on his other foot....now I've Googled those and along with other symptoms I'm now stressing about Lupus....I need to leave Dr Google alone!!)

Covid toe is still fairly rare, but we are well and truly into chilblain season.

Did you get your result @Inacoldclimate?
