Tiredness but no fever - could this be it?

Many people I know of (but haven’t physically seen so cant have given it to) have something similar In Essex - extreme tiredness, some have a headache some have diarrhoea / feeling (but not actually) sick. The common denominator is extreme tiredness. As we have some of the highest rates in the country I was wondering whether this might be the new variant. Or are symptoms same as the first - fever, loss of taste and smell etc in which case this is just another winter bug. I presume the latter is most likely but there must be some highly contagious winter bugs spreading about at the moment (interesting how they have transmitted when we have barely been anywhere, worn masks etc). Anyone else experiencing the same?

I was really tired for two days before my cough symptoms came out . I'd isolate and get a test. There's all sorts of symptoms really.

@girlofthenorth thanks, hubby is actually having his test right now - he was in bed sleeping all day yesterday

I had these symptoms back in April but never got tested.

@XenoBitch seems really hard to know as going by the official NHS symptoms list this wouldn’t be enough to require a test but anecdotally there seem to be many locally with similar symptoms. I had more “mainstream” Covid symptoms in March (Fever, persistent Cough etc) but never had a test -hubby got no symptoms whatsoever- but now I’m the one in our household who has got off most “lightly” with this tiredness bug...makes me wonder...
