How do 'they' know if you are an unpaid carer? (Vaccine priority)

It was mentioned on another thread that being an unpaid carer is one of the factors used in prioritising vaccine roll out. I just wondered how the powers that be would know who we are?

You register with your GP as a carer. You can do it on their website usually.

Carers allowance?

Check your GP has it on your records. There was a form on the website I filled in and they updated my records straight away.
