I know someone who is having their 2nd jab today, so not having to wait the 12 weeks or so.

I believe that over 80s who had already had their first Pfizer jab are still to get their second as originally planned.
I know an 83 year old in Oxford (who have been VERY prompt at rolling at the vaccine) had her first jab before Christmas and yesterday had it confirmed that she will get her second as originally booked for next week, even though she was expecting it to be delayed.

My mother having her second one on Thursday.

I don't think it's a blanket policy, Pebble. An 87 year old I know in London had his second jab cancelled this week.

TwilightSkies · 05/01/2021 17:03

I had my second one yesterday. I work in a care home. Had my first one 3 weeks ago

TempsPerdu · 05/01/2021 17:07

As far as I can tell it’s a postcode lottery. We’re in London and my parents’s 88-year-old next door neighbour had her 2nd jab cancelled yesterday; my Dad (82) is due his on the 11th but isn’t expecting it to actually happen.

However, many of my parents’ friends live in Herts and Essex and several of them have had their 2nd jabs done already.

BasiliskStare · 05/01/2021 17:27

My parents have had their 2nd ( North of England ) but lucky as the 2nd vaccinations were delayed. They were just ahead of the cut off for 2nd ones.

sandieshaw · 05/01/2021 17:29

My understanding is that anyone who already had a 2nd appointment booked up until the end of this week will still receive their jab as planned.

My family member who had jab one before Xmas had their second dose on Saturday (front line NHS with high risk assessment)

dottypees · 05/01/2021 17:32

Our local over 80s second jabs have been cancelled this week.

Scarby9 · 05/01/2021 17:36

No, but two separate friends' parents were rung today to confirm that they will have their second injections as promised this Sunday.

HalfDutchGirl · 05/01/2021 17:38

My partners 82 year old mother is (all being well) having her second jab on Thursday. Southampton area.

JackiesCrimbleCrumble · 05/01/2021 17:38

DM had her first dose before Christmas, she's been told that no staff at her trust will be receiving a second dose anytime soon. They've said that you're 70% immune with the first dose.
They would rather 100% of people be 70% immune rather than 50% of people be 90%+ immune and 50% have 0 immunity.

DesireAs · 05/01/2021 17:41

Aunt & Uncle had their 2nd dose today, mum & dad have had their 2nd jab confirmed for Thursday. North West England.

StuntCroissant · 05/01/2021 17:44

My grandparents have both had the two doses. Second one on New Years Day.

Sadless · 06/01/2021 14:22

My mother in law had her second yesterday she said they told her she still has to be careful and she lives in blackpool

Yes, mil had it today.

Horsemad · 06/01/2021 14:28

Seems to be varied as to whether they're receiving their second hand within the original 3wk planned timescale.

Going for mine tomorrow 😬

Metallicalover · 06/01/2021 14:30

I know 2 people (health care workers) that have had both.
I'm a health care worker also and had a phone call last night cancelling my 2nd dose and saying they will get in touch xx
