Kier Starmer, the TUC and various news outlets pushing companies to offer furlough to working parents. I’m hoping this happens as I’d take it in a heartbeat, I’m already struggling and supposed to be back at work in the next couple of days. I also know that I’m in a privileged position to be having these worries.
What would you do? Is it fair? My concern is surely those who can be furloughed are office based mid management workers (like me) would it widen the gap even further between children of lower paid staff who have to be in and higher paid? And selfishly, would it put a parent who requests furlough first in line for redundancy?
Sorry if this thread has already been done!
