Posting here because it's more about covid than childcare really.
So, currently our 1 year old DD is going to childminder 3 days a week and nursery 2 days a week. We love the childminder but she only works 4 days a week so we had to split it that way, and another benefit is that she gets to mix with more children her own age at nursery and experience a different environment.
Anyway, now that another lockdown has been announced, our childminder has offered to have DD full time during this time, if we don't want to have her mixing with too many people. I said I'll think about it as I'm not really sure about the severity of the current situation, if it will help anyone massively, etc etc. I am soooooo not clued up on the latest news, I feel a bit detached from it all really, I just stopped keeping up to date with stuff over the last few months other than being aware of which tier we are in and what we are allowed to do >-)
Anybody any advice to help me make a decision / figure out what is the RIGHT thing to do?
Thanks!
(P.S. I'm sure there'll be some comments about whether nursery will still charge us / hold DD's place etc etc .. I haven't asked about those specifics yet, I will investigate more if I need to.)
(P.P.S. DD has only been to nursery for a few hours (settling in sessions & half a day yesterday, plus today), so whether she enjoys being there or not won't be a factor in the decision right now. She's been going to the childminder's for a few months.)
