New lockdown - social bubble

I can’t sleep due to anxiety.

Knowing how my daughter behaved during the first lockdown and first attempt at homeschooling is eating me up inside. She is only 6 but she is headstrong and determined. Home has always been a place of play not a mummy demanding she do schoolwork. She struggled with adjusting last time and I’m sure she will struggle again.

My husband also works away Monday to Friday. Apparently because he is still a part of my household it means I cannot form a social bubble with anyone. Surely there are other parents out there in this situation? What are you all doing? Our circumstances have been hugely over looked.

I’m tearing my hair out at the thought of the next 6 weeks!

A childcare bubble is to allow parents with children under 14 to get help with their care. It doesn’t mean that you have to be working.

@EveryoneRevealsThemselves. Yes you can meet a person from another household outside for exercise I don’t understand why people are saying you can’t when it’s clearly written in black and white (children under 5 also do not count as 1 person)

@Katie517 I take it back you are partially correct. The confusion stems from within their own guidance.
One the same page, one paragraph apart it says you can leave the house for exercise:
“ You must not leave, or be outside of your home except where necessary. You may leave the home to:
•exercise with your household (or support bubble) or one other person, this should be limited to once per day”

BUT
In the further “exercise section” It states what I previously posted with NO mention of being allowed to meet with one other (non household/bubble):
“ You can exercise in a public outdoor place:

by yourself
with the people you live with
with your support bubble (if you are legally permitted to form one)
in a childcare bubble where providing childcare
or, when on your own, with 1 person from another household”

No wonder people are confused. Depending on which bit you quote, you can or can’t meet one other person for exercise.

I think we are all feeling a little battle weary tonight

Ladies, I’ve sought clarity from Simple Politics (via Instagram) and my local MP you are quite right we can form a childcare bubble to help with the care of any child under 14 when the parent or regular carer is not present.

Which means I can nip out for essentials without dragging the kids along - which did seem a bit crazy considering our current situation.

However the meeting another person for exercise would have to be when I was alone .. can I use a childcare bubble to exercise .. I’m not so sure.. although it would definitely help me keep my sanity... I’m waiting further clarification on that.

Happy to report first day of homeschooling went by rather well. A few tears over doing some writing but we got there in the end with the help of a reward chart ! Hoping for snow tomorrow and a good dose of fresh air.

When I say a childcare bubble to exercise I mean can someone look after my kid’s while I go for a walk.. not go for a walk with my childcare bubble FYI!
