Don't rely on Internet forums for health advice. Call 111 or your GP.

Nothing you will get told here can you trust entirely. Seek medical advice

I was short of breath from day 7. I phoned 111 as I got to a week and no better, a doctor prescribed an inhaler and antibiotics. I'm 3 weeks in and much better, didn't need hospital treatment. Hope you feel better soon, it's a horrible, worrying time

Yes me back in March! My shortness of breath became much worse around that time and lasted 1-2 weeks after but I was able to cope at home. I couldn’t walk to the bathroom without catching my breath but it got better.

Not me but 2 people I know of had shortness of breath and were treated at home. But both called 111 and were seen just in case. One got steroids prescribed. Not sure about the other. Both fine now!

Yes me back in March. Although I was borderline. If you are worried you must call 111. I had paramedics come out and assess me on two separate occasions. The service is there if you need it.

Yes, horrific cough and breathless affected me from about a week in for a good month. Called 111 at peak of it, was advised to call 999 but as I wasn't permanently affected just a couple of times during day I refused, they had Dr call me and explained how it was episodes not permanent and I could get my breathing back on track with rest. Dr prescribed inhaler and Bronchostop medicine which is easily available in chemists, it helped but still not gone. I did t understand at the time a couple of days after positive test that the cough for me started after the body aches had finished so I thought I was over the worst of it.

I was day 8 yesterday and had my worst day. Struggling for breath if I turned over in bed. Lay on my front and did breathing exercises and tried to stay calm. I was getting scared if I’m honest. Today I feel much better. I have walked downstairs and eaten a light meal. Hoping I’m on the mend now hope you feel better soon.

Thanks. If I cough now it leaves me out of breath. Oximeter reading fine but heartrate high. Also nose v blocked up. Had so many naps today that I now can’t sleep

111 sent me to a&e to get checked over today. They did bloods and chest X-ray and ECG.

ECG showed fast heartbeat but steady and doctor said not to worry about this as his still fast seven months after covid. X-ray showed mild covid signs and he said no way to know if will worsen but some people have heat Xrays like that on day 3 so to have it on day 9 is not too bad and then showed me a bad case X-ray to compare. Bloods were fine which was good. He also said v helpful to have a baseline in case admitted in future.

He said because of fast heartrate and family heart history he would have given me beta blockers except they make asthma worse. He gave me precautionary antibiotics though to start immediate (blood did show slight infection but v low - I think it may be infected toenail Smile) and also prednisolone to take only if I start to wheeze.

Am under strict orders to return of home oximetry goes below 92
