Can I say Thank You to all the Head Teachers and staff who are having to deal with this clusterfuck?

The emails from DD's secondary Head still have a grain of humour in them but how the poor woman has any hair left is beyond me. Along with the SLT and other Teachers she must have worked so hard to put plan after plan into place only for it to be changed at the last minute.

The emails from her since the week before the Xmas break have basically been

We thought we were doing A but now we are doing B. we have worked very hard to prepare for B and this is how it will work.

It seems now we are doing C. We have given this a lot of thought and put a lot of effort into a viable plan...

Whoops we are doing D

Oh actually it's E/F...Z

Today's message was about all the volunteers they had recruited for the testing, the training they had done and how it was all going to work.

What a waste of time and effort.

Thank you, it is so lovely to read this. I have just replanned my lessons for the morning and got them posted online. To come on MN to find this thread has made me smile at the end of a crappy day. Good luck everyone!

Wonderful thread.

Hats of to all school staff for trying so damn hard to keep our children safe.
Teachers have had to work in unsafe conditions, and put up with some terrible comments from parents.
Thank you so much, and best of luck with online teaching. Thanks

I have the utmost admiration and awe for headteachers right now. Utter nightmare. We are all frustrated and disappointed and worried for our children but the constant undercurrent of whinging from certain parents on my various school whatsapp groups really annoys me. It’s the same parents this time as last time; complaining, pushing for more work, more live lessons, why can’t they do this? Why not that? Why not prioritise my child over every other child in the school??
