Tier four. Half shut, half open, some partially open!!

This is nuts!

Surely unsustainable? I’m back to work this morning in a tier four school for inset day, hopefully I will find out a bit more then.

Alas, wtaf is going on??

This is what happens when the government ignores advice and does nothing to help make working environments safe.

Of course the pandemic isn't the governments fault. Inaction, silence and refusing to communicate with schools is.

It's what happens when people have to take necessary, drastic action, because they can't wait for central government to take action as it will be too late.

It's complete and utter madness. We are surrounded by Milton Keynes, Luton and Bedford, and live in a London commuter village with numbers around 600 per 100,000 and our schools are open tomorrow. I just don't know whether to send my dd (10) or keep her home. She has already had to isolate twice and I think I'd rather keep her home and wait for the sage data in 2 weeks

It is a complete joke. Nobody knows what is going on!

A few schools have shut in my town and we have the lowest rates we've had since near the start of this!
Alot of my friends are expecting their schools to decide to shut this morning after the teachers don't show up.😵‍💫

Parents are up in arms about our Council insisting school will be open. The tide has definitely turned.

Happychristmashohoho · 04/01/2021 11:36

Who are deciding the schools are shutting, is it the head/management team or is it the government?

Ours is due to be open tomorrow, we are tier 4, but our local area has quite low cases compared to our region.

Hancock this morning said to act as though you have Covid.........,oh an schools are safe.Hmm

Some shut by government. Some by local authorities. Some by academy chains or Heads. Some because so many staff are refusing unsafe working conditions that they can’t open.

It depends on the type of school and who has the authority. our GB employ the Head so they make that decision. It also varies if the Council has provided a statement of support or not.
Some provided a statement yesterday but some only today. They provide legal advice and guidance along with data for that area that helps in the decision.
