Messages today from friends about potential tier 5. Don't want to get caught up in worrying about this but one suggested that restaurants/ take aways may close. I am trying to remember if they were allowed to open in lockdown 1, I thought they were still open. But I can't quite remember.

Can anyone else remember? Thanks Smile

Yes good points about them maybe not getting enough business.

I wonder if it might be different for some places, eg McDonalds, now they are set up for more socially distanced food service, e.g being able to do deliveries, and the app ordering/collection bays in the car parks. Not sure if that was one of the reasons to shut though initially.

Yes, we have one a couple of times a week.

Yes they were here

Yes they were. I was proud to help my local Indian restaurant survive the first lockdown!

Not at the beginning. We had to cook for ourselves, at home, every day. 😢 Takeaways opened after a few weeks as I recall, once "covid secure" and there was great excitement, cheering and parades in the street ok, no, but all the people waiting outside for their orders were in such high spirits of pure relief at no longer having to eat their own tedious cooking 🎉
