Protests outside a covid ward. Why? How can these people deny it?

Imagine being a health worker being greeted with this?

It's disgusting and mind boggling, it really is. Perhaps they should be invited in to do some cleaning, without PPE.

UserID · 02/01/2021 11:12

Why do it outside a hospital? Surely it’s a protest against the decisions of government not the NHS?

SimonJT · 02/01/2021 11:14

Some people are extremely stupid.

Some people don’t believe Australia exists, other people think the earth is flat.

Sadly we should not be surprised by stupidity.

LacyEdge · 02/01/2021 11:14

They are thick as pigshit and gullible as toddlers. I struggle to think of any other reason.

LetsGoFlyAKiteee · 02/01/2021 11:14

Urghhhhh some people are just stupid. It's like that woman who went filming round a hospital to try and prove a point. Except covid patients or general ward patients
aren't just sat around in the corridor!

Flaunch · 02/01/2021 11:16

You put it better than I ever could Grin

They are thick as mince.

fourquenelles · 02/01/2021 11:18

Spray them all with some sort of indelible ultra violet activated ink then refuse treatment when they (eventually) present with Covid symptoms. Actions have consequences after all.

I love this idea so much. fourquenelles for PM.

As a nurse working on a Covid ward this upsets me so much. I really hope the poor patients fighting for their lives inside did not see this demonstration. It is devastating for the staff to see such stupidity knowing how bad things are in the hospitals, particularly London and Kent.
It is disappointing the media aren't stepping up more to show whats actually happening though. The crisis in London and Kent is being discussed on Twitter but I'm yet to see an accurate post by a newspaper to inform the public.
There needs to be a government responsibility to educate these people, as they are the ones who will refuse the vaccine and potentially end up needing hospitalisation themselves.

Dragongirl10 · 02/01/2021 11:39

Beyond thick

pourmeanotherglass · 02/01/2021 11:39

They should get a fine, with the opportunity to reduce it if they attend a compulsory training day, like when people are caught speeding.

GoldenOmber · 02/01/2021 11:40

Suspect it’s more comforting to think it’s all a conspiracy. No dangerous virus and the government is absolutely competent and in control (albeit evil), and there’s a simple answer and you know what it is. Much nicer than reality.

mrshoho · 02/01/2021 11:43

love the spraying idea!

Nobble I didn't even think of the patients. How they must feel hearing or seeing them. I'm so sorry you and your colleagues have to witness it.

Any protests outside a hospital is wrong, it was wrong when it was up in Liverpool and it is wrong now. Whatever their opinion there are ill people inside and they don't need this outside.

Not sure there are hundreds though, and some people are probably just there because people flock together.

AwaAnBileYerHeid · 02/01/2021 11:46

"There needs to be a government responsibility to educate these people, as they are the ones who will refuse the vaccine and potentially end up needing hospitalisation themselves."

Sadly these people can't be educated. They are refusing to believe, despite all the evidence that is out there. Thick as pigs shit unfortunately.

Vimtoinmilk · 02/01/2021 11:53

Unfortunately people with this kind of mindset will find their evidence in everything they read or watch. Denial/delusional thinking is very powerful.

canigooutyet · 02/01/2021 11:58

That video was ridiculous.
I watched it thinking no shit Sherlock there's less people around. Appointments are no longer an extended family days out.
The whole neighbourhood isn't squeezed round the beds.

Tbh, as a patient I'm finding things better, more space in your cubicle on the ward because beds have gone. Appointments for things like blood tests. Turn up to your appointment and seen on time.

Shame they are so understaffed, and removing beds has created an obvious problem.

drinkingwineoutofamug · 02/01/2021 12:01

They can come and work a 12 hour shift with me. I get to wear the full ppe and they , as they believe we don't need mask etc, can go without.
I worked yesterday, would post the picture of my face after just 1 hour , but would put you off your lunch.
I was looking after positive patients , not enough oxygen points and doing obs every 30 mins - hour as patients that unstable . But yep, me and a million other HCP both in hospitals, hospices, community and care homes have been brain washed and hypnotised into believing this virus since about this time last year 🙄

Like Smartwater used to identify robbery suspects

LimitIsUp · 03/01/2021 00:36

I heard someone cough at the start of that video. I guess they are going to find out soon enough that Covid is real

Horribly insensitive to protest outside a hospital

happystone · 03/01/2021 01:26

Hope that get codv reallybad

happystone · 03/01/2021 01:27

Hopefully they will get codv. But really bad

BluebellsGreenbells · 03/01/2021 01:33

Personally I would have notes out in their medical records and refuse treatment.

They don’t deserve a place instead of others who are acting responsibly and have been unfortunate.

TorringtonDean · 03/01/2021 01:43

£1,000 fines all round might make them think.

Threelionsandalioness · 03/01/2021 01:50

@fourquenelles absolutely nailed it ! Another vote for PM for you x
