What should I say to my MP about schools?

I want to write to my MP (who, despite being a Tory is actually fairly reasonable) and say that I think schools should be closed and ask him to intervene.

I'm in the West Midlands.

What should I say? Has anyone got a template or something similar? I know rates are very high in my town but I don't think they're London-high. I just worry that if I don't have a watertight data-filled argument, he will fob me off with stats, when my real point is actually 'This is getting dangerous can we not just shut down for a bit and wait for the vaccine to kick in? Take some action BEFORE we're at the London stage?' We are an hour from London, closer to Birmingham.

#safeedforall

On twitter has some templates.

Personally I'd get heavy handed with the language because we are in A heavy situation.

I also wouldn't say its not safe I would ask if he can personally guarantee in writing your dc safety.

That's a good one.

Thank you for the twitter link, I'll check it out. I know what I want to say but I'm afraid I'll say it wrong.

Noblegiraffe had a really good template on a couple of threads recently (that you could tinker with to your own requirements). Sorry, I've no idea where, but you could run a search?

If you have a Facebook account, please come and look at ‘Parents United Against Unsafe Schools’. You will get plenty of advice here too.

Have a look oh his social media

I just looked on ours to see he is already planning to ask government to close ours!

Nothing on his page just some cheery happy new year stuff.

I've emailed him. I stayed away from stats and just said he must know them but the overall picture was dangerous and wrong.

Ask them to prioritise vaccines for teachers and TAs.

I don't mind about getting a response, as such, I just want to add my voice to any thoughts or discussions that he may be having.
