Can anyone professionally involved in the vaccination pls reassure me

..that the number of those vaccinated WILL ramp up considerably and a substantial chunk WILL be vaccinated by spring?

Because all I'm hearing about in the (admittedly left-wing) media is stories about
-massive red tape slowing down the distribution of the stuff
-massive red tape slowing down the recruitment of HCPs and volunteers
-no real leadership going on
-huge football stadia etc being recommissioned for the purpose but no plan as to how to staff them etc (see also nightingale hospitals!)
-distribution difficulties

I know the logistics of getting out the AZ vaccine is going to be much easier than the Pfizer but frankly, unless we really can soon do 2 million a week I have no hope we'll be out of this by Easter, as Boris seems to insist.

Given how totally useless this government has been about pretty much everything, I'd really like to know if anybody out there 'in the know' can reassure me that plans are afoot and actually, the NHS will get it done. Obviously I know that it's very much dependent on the supply, which to some extent is out of control.

Yes, the NHS is mostly ready and the main hold up is deliveries (and batch licencing) of the vaccine. I fully expect by February that we will be in a much better position to vaccinate on mass.

Thank you. I trust this government with nothing so am really pleased to hear the view from those in the know.

I have been thinking the same op. Really got my hopes up when the vaccine was approved but then since reading about it being delayed etc really put a downer on it
