I work in primary and don’t want to leave my teens again. It was disastrous last time.

The education secretary said keyworker and vulnerable children returning from 4th

So will heads be emailing to see who wants places for Monday? Last time out head firmly suggested keycworkers didn’t take up places. I’m not making that mistake again.

Our school sent parents a form yesterday. There were a handful of KS3 pupils attending throughout the first lockdown: keyworker children, vulnerable children and a few kids who struggled to do their work at home. They did the same online lessons as at home, just in the school computer rooms.

We had our email from one of our schools yesterday. Although technically a keyworker, I did not accept the keyworker place though as not needed due to Wfh, so I hope you can sort yours soon.

Mine are secondary too.

FrippEnos · 30/12/2020 17:57

In from the 4th although what they will be doing is anyone's guess.

Pieceofpurplesky · 30/12/2020 18:41

In most schools they will be doing similar to last time - in smaller groups, supervised and doing the online learning like those at home

From todays announcement there is no work from home for yrs 7 - 10.

TheLevyEyebrowsFancIub · 30/12/2020 18:47

Check your school's twitter/website/fb - mine is asking kw pupils' parents to email to be added to the lists.

Rowgtfc72 · 30/12/2020 18:52

We emailed the school to take up the offer of a place.
Turns out shes the only yr 9 so theyve turned our application down.
Heres hoping dhs shifts dont change.

@FrippEnos that's not how many schools have interpreted it. Two local schools have already sent out emails stating work will be online from Tuesday 5. Our work chat (several different schools due to kids) all think this is what will happen and what was inferred

Pieceofpurplesky · 30/12/2020 19:06

Just looked at twitter and they are like us @FrippEnos - no idea which way it is supposed to be!

the information I have says yr 11 remote learning from the 4th, no other years require work bein get, then other yrs remote learning from the 11th.

So it maybe down to individual schools.

IamChipmunk · 30/12/2020 19:27

My school are doing online learning for everyone from the 5th when we should have gone back.
Any vulnerable or key worker pupils in school will be supervised to do the same online learning as everyone else.
All staff are also in from the 5th.

Pieceofpurplesky · 30/12/2020 20:26

Where was this from Frip?

FrippEnos · 30/12/2020 20:45

updated.

clear as mud.

FrippEnos · 30/12/2020 20:48

The confusion will be over "prioritise" as it now doesn't say "no other year group"

Politic speak at its finest.

FrippEnos · 30/12/2020 20:49

Further down it says

"prioritise resource for remote education for exam year groups - remote education should be provided to other years as resources permit"

FrippEnos · 30/12/2020 23:37

changed again,

remote education being prioritised for pupils in exam year groups (primarily years 11 and 13) during the week commencing 4 January,

remote education being provided for all other pupils from 11 January, with remote education resources week commencing 4 January prioritised for exam years
