SAHPs will you be sending your preschooler in from next week?

Just that really . I am asking this from SAHPs as I know parents who are working may have to send their children in as they need to work so may not have a choice. DD (3) is due to go back next week as far as I am aware (haven't heard anything from the preschool to the contrary), but I am thinking of keeping her off for about two weeks to see how things go, due to the new variant of covid. She is an only child so will miss out on mixing with other children which she absolutely loves. Am I being paranoid or are other sahps doing this as well? She is also eligible for funding from January so would i not be able to keep her away for this reason as she will be using funded hours? Last term the preschool did very well - no cases so didn't have to isolate.

I have 2 preschoolers and no particular need to send the boys. I'm not a sahm but me and dh are easily able to split our time with the boys.

We are both still undecided yet. So sorry, not a very strong opinion. I do feel uncomfortable sending them though because we don't have to

Undecided but leaning towards not sending DD(3).

No, not with the way things are at the moment...and I am not making this decision lightly at all

I'm in Scotland so my DC preschool isn't opening again until the 18th, but if it was opening earlier I think I'd probably hold back a couple of weeks too. If they don't have to go in I'm happy to spend a bit more time with my children.

Thank you for replying . I think I will keep her at home a couple of weeks and see how things go.

My DD (3) is due to start preschool next week and has been looking forward to it for months. She's an only child and so hasn't had much playtime with other kids since March. I don't really want to keep her at home but I am worried about sending her now

Not a SAHP but WFH and DH can too.
Will send 3yo DS in as normal. Unless they close of course.

I feel uncomfortable sending dc in when I don't have to. I feel angry that this is hanging in the balance and wish I knew if they are closing all of the schools are not!

On mat leave and yes I will 100% be sending my 3yr old in, nothing open and freezing cold - I’m even thinking of adding additional days to her existing schedule to keep her entertained

In Scotland also. I would've sent my preschooler if his nursery was open because a) it's outdoors, so lower risk for transmission and b) our area still has relatively low case numbers. No cases or even tests required at DS' preschool or DD's school last term. I would feel very differently in different areas, so I guess it very much depends on what's happening in your area plus your own family's risk budget.
