My DS3 has been staying at his Dads (my exP) for the last couple of days. His girlfriend, who he lives with, has woken up with no sense of smell. My exP and DS apparently no symptoms but obviously have to isolate. However I'm supposed to collect my DS later on. What do I do?

Leave him at his dads for the next 10 days?

Or bring him back to mine? I guess then I have to isolate for 10 days myself.

Either option is pretty rubbish as, I'll miss him terribly, but am I then exposing myself to the virus unnecessarily?

In terms of testing she is waiting on a postal test as there are no available appointments anywhere so I'm assuming it will be a couple of days before any result

he should stay where he is. My ex and I agreed that this is what we would do if anyone developed symptoms during their stay with him (he's the NRP).

He needs to stay where he is unless they both become too ill to care for him.

Symptoms typically arrive after a few days, so if your DS was with you a couple of days ago and seeing his girlfriend then, you could already be infected. Which means you might as well fetch him, but then both of you should self isolate. I'm no expert though!

Why 10 days? Has she not booked a test? She could have her results by tomorrow. Make a decision then.

That not the rules though - that's just your opinion. Children can move between households regardless of the situation. Personally mine would come home as the court ordered contact is more than enough.

I'd say it's your choice. If this happened to me I'm not leaving DS at my ex's for 10 days.

Ooh, have just noticed it's your ex's girlfriend. D'oh! I thought it was your DS's!
