Positive result for 4yo but -ve for adults anyone had similar?

Hey,
We tested on Wednesday as part of a community testing program not because we had symptoms. Results in today: DH and I are negative but 4yo DD +ve. Didn’t test the 1yo as the swab is so upsetting for him. Am freaking slightly now as DH is in shielding category and I have asthma: should we even attempt to reduce contact with DD (how on earth do you do this with a 4yo in a small house ?!) and also how is it that she hasn’t passed it us? I thought adults were more vulnerable to catching it than kids? Has anyone else had this? Did everyone in the house end up getting it? Is that inevitable when you’ve got a young child with it?

Thanks

We were in a similar position, but DP and I tested positive a few days later.

In your situation it might be best if your dh isolated away from the rest of you whilst you look after the children. You could do that for a week and see whether anyone develops symptoms. Fingers crossed you'll all be ok.

I was negative Saturday but positive by Monday. I got symptoms on the Sunday so you were only negative when the test was taken
