Tested positive today following a routine test at work. What little plans I did have can’t happen now. Was really looking forward to a dog walk tomorrow. Feel ok in myself though, that’s a bonus!

Really sorry to hear that @frankie001. Hope you stay symptom free. When are you allowed out?

frankie001 · 24/12/2020 22:14

31st!!

Poor doggy too. Hope you stay well and can invent dogthletics to keep dog exercised and your mind occupied

InterfectoremVulpes · 24/12/2020 22:16

On the bright side, perfect reason to sit on the sofa eating chocolate for a week Grin

frankie001 · 24/12/2020 22:50

@RB68 luckily she will be glad of the break!

@InterfectoremVulpes I was meant to be front line working Boxing Day. Just feel bad for the team! But I will console myself with chocolate and wine, just to check I still can taste things!!

If you are all symptomatic I would say ok to mix, but maybe sit away from the others, have a window open?

It's a known fact that you should test your taste buds several times a day with different foods. Just to check. Honest!

frankie001 · 25/12/2020 22:56

@LindaEllen just checked with Ameretto. Can still taste!!

DS tested positive, we received the results today. You have my sympathies. I would love to be able to get out and walk the dog. He is spending most of his time in his room which could mean a week of Xbox. I feel really shit about that. Really, really shit.

Smashedavacado · 25/12/2020 23:27

DH got his positive result this evening as we sat playing monopoly. After a few days of feeling full of cold he was feeling fine and we had relaxed as we were convinced he was negative! On the plus side we just hope he won't get any worse now.

Somewhereelsewhere · 25/12/2020 23:30

Out of curiosity, you say you tested positive on the 24th but allowed out on 31st.
I thought guidance was 10days or have I misunderstood?
Am asking as my mum is in same situation. Thank you

It's from onset of symptoms not positive test result isn't it?
ineedaholidaynow · 25/12/2020 23:42

It's from the onset of symptoms rather than the date of the test, unless you have no symptoms

It probably took a few days for the OP to get a test and the results to come back. It's isolate for 10 days following onset of symptoms.
Iootraw1 · 25/12/2020 23:47

Me too. No symptoms - 8 days since tested positive. Got a dog it sooo hard - tricks, games, fetch in garden, find the dog treats game, very hard to keep him happy and settled as only young. Can’t wait to get out walking that dog again!!!
We will get through it OP! All the best to you.

frankie001 · 26/12/2020 00:15

Sorry for the confusion, I had test on 21st through my work, and result came in on Christmas Eve. Wasn’t symptomatic, so was a shock.

@frankie001
Thank you for clarifying.
I was hoping I had misunderstood the guidelines and could see my mother earlier than our anticipated dates.
Hope you stay well!

frankie001 · 26/12/2020 12:36

@Somewhereelsewhere I’m so sorry, it’s just shit isn’t it?

Stepdad had a test on Monday 21st (through work) and positive result came in today, no symptoms so we went for Xmas lunch yesterday (as no symptoms, didn’t think he’d be positive!) how long should I isolate for? 10
Days from seeing him yesterday? Sorry all confusing! Thanks!

frankie001 · 26/12/2020 12:55

10 days from the positive test.

OP posts:
LemonadeLove · 26/12/2020 12:58

Even though I saw him Yesterday? X

Lifeispassingby · 26/12/2020 13:02

@LemonadeLove 10days from the contact as if you caught it yesterday it could take 10days for you to ‘have’ it x
