Can't stop worrying about GCSEs 2021

DS hasn't even done all his mocks yet but I'm worried that the actual GCSES are going to be cancelled again how on earth will marks be worked out. I know for a fact at a friend's DC's school, mocks were done in the classroom and the DC cheated, presumably while the teachers turned a blind eye. Other schools (including my DS's), had properly invigilated exams in the hall. Some DC did mocks at home. How is any of this going to be fair if mocks are used to grade the real GCSE?
I know in the scheme of things worse things are happening, but I just feel so disappointed for DS that this is happening and will potentially effect his future.

Mocks will only form part of the teacher's assessments. Teachers know their students and will have a pretty good idea of the sort of grades they should be getting in mocks and other assessments. IT will be clear if students have cheated.
