Tier 4 restrictions for under 18

Hello Mumsnet,

We have SS staying with us (we're tier 2) and his home is in tier 4.

His mum wants him to move between our house and his home twice between now and Xmas. We can't find guidance that says this is an option. He's 17 if that helps. Our logic is that we can't drive into tier 4. Does anyone have definitive advice?

Under 18s can travel between both parents households whatever tier they are in as it is deemed essential to keep contact going.
That being said if he is 17 what does he actually want to do as his wishes should be guiding this type of thing by that age unless there are important reasons that he is in one particular house.

Yes, you can continue existing child contact arrangements and it is exemption 9 in the tier 4 regulations

He wants to stay here as he's clinically vulnerable but I think he's starting to feel guilty because his mum is asking
