It seems like people still do what they want in terms of international travel as long as the flight is going ahead. It's not even being controlled or enforced, apart from some other countries closing the borders. I am at loss. Why do we even bother with any kind of rules?
One person I know just said they will proceed with the travel because it's unlikely they will be questioned in the airport for the purpose of travel?
Feel defeated today because all we have lost like a family financially, all the stress and days of isolation... basically for nothing. I start to feel silly for following the rules.

Yes, it's wrong

But look st the number of threads where people are prepared to post quite openly that they intend to break the rules (either by letter of the law or perfectly clear intent)

So unless until it's better policed, and travellers denied boarding, there will be a problem. But it's not likely to be one which lasts, as countries are responding by banning all flights

I'm shocked by people travelling. The excuse will always be 'well its within the rules'. Yes, rules set by an incompetent Gov who have got it wrong virtually every step of the way and complete lly failed to get a handle on the spread of this virus. I honestly can't believe there is anyone who would think travelling to anywhere right now (be it abroad or two counties over). It's batshit, and so so selfish.

@Callcat
I’m shocked how people keep on travelling even when it’s plain illegal and banned, like in the case described in my post. Makes me feel silly for keeping my perfectly symptomless child at home for 10 days with no garden to go out to. But I still do! We also have a family abroad, we didn’t even think buying tickets because it was obvious that it’s not getting better and losing income due to another isolation is not a possibility for us.
