In tier 4 but work in tier 2 question

I am in tier 4 sadly, but making the best of a Christmas at home, but have been thinking ahead to work in the new year. I work about an hour away in tier 2, in a job that isn't essential - not a key worker, in a museum type environment which is open in tier 2 but not in tier 4. I can't find any official guidance on what to do here, is it ok for me to work in tier 2? If I were my colleagues I wouldn't be too keen! Anyone know?

You can't work from home, so you go to work: www.gov.uk/guidance/tier-4-stay-at-home#going-to-work.
You could ask your employer what they want you to do given that it's legal, as long as they pay you either way.

My husband is in a similar situation, he is working in tier 2, presuming he will be going to work there as usual. Doesn't come into contact with anyone other than at builders merchants as he's working on his own. Not eligible for any support as is self employed and has only been doing this work since October (plus on a hard deadline to finish it)
