How long for results if you tested this week?

One member of the family did a postal test - posted on Wednesday around 11am. No results yet.

Another two did a walk in (as we heard post was crap) again at around 11am but on Friday. No results yet.

If you tested this week, how did you test and how soon did you get results? This wait is twisting my insides something rotten.

29 hours drive through test East Midlands
46 hours drive through Leeds

Mumof3andlovingit · 19/12/2020 23:17

50 hrs for my drive through test. And I noticed the drive through testing place was extremely busy this time.

m0therofdragons · 19/12/2020 23:18

Mine have all been within 24 hours (family of 5 seem to be taking turns). Last was last Sunday 3pm and result was 7am. Kids were unimpressed they had to go to school.

Walk in test in London for a family member at 6pm Thursday. Nothing back yet!

Agoodbriskwalk · 19/12/2020 23:37

I think the results are slowing down, maybe due to people getting tested 'for Christmas' rather than with symptoms.

@whisper1991 Never thought I'd be jealous of a quick turnaround on a Covid test.

Tested Mon 8.30am drive in results 1pm Tue

Parents tested Tue 8pm walk in
Mothers results came through within 36 hours but they escalated hers and fast tracked the results, she only tested as a contact of my son and she is ECV so was worried really worried.
My dads took longer 48 hours.
We are in Wales.

time4anothername · 20/12/2020 00:08

my friend posted Monday, result tonight only (5 days later). Inconclusive. I don't know if postal delays make it so or just something was wrong with the swab.

Notashandyta · 20/12/2020 00:09

Husband had his 12pm on friday. Still nothing.

Doesnt sound a long time but I'm with you, I can think of much else and its driving me crazy.

Didnt put my phone as usual on silent last night and had a sleep filled with bleeps and dings of emails etc, which of course I had to check each time. Another night of it tonight

Agoodbriskwalk · 20/12/2020 00:29

I'm the same @Notashandyta - every beep makes my heart race. And it's usually my mum saying 'Have you heard yet?'

I've actually put it on silent for a little while as the anxiety is really bad. I hope we hear soon.
