International travel and Tier 4

What happens to those who planned to travel internationally to see their families abroad? Ticket refunded/flights cancelled?
Work related travel is allowed apparently so how do they control the reason for travel?
We are isolating anyway and don’t go anywhere, but hoped to go see grandparents during the Easter and feel like there’s no point to even search for tickets.

As it’s law that you cannot travel in tier 4, I should think tickets will be credited or refunded.

when does this travel ban for not being able to leave scotland start

We’re meant to fly tomorrow and I am really hoping flights get refunded.
We couldn’t face ringing tonight.

I'm struggling to find whether it's "not advised" or actually illegal

It feels like no one wants to put an actual stamp on it, several airlines posted that it wasn't for them to decide if you can travel or not
