I live in T2 Hampshire .It’s affluent but within 10 miles it’s all market towns. In fact most of the county is pretty much small towns. However we border T3 both north and south and they have all the big shopping centres - high street brands, chains, outlet stores etc. They are only a 15 minute drive away.

So given that Christmas day is still happening can we can expect a massive influx of people trying to buy stuff from our independent shops , hairdressers, nail places etc ?
And T2 will still be using the T3 hyper markets that will still be allowed to open - absolutely rammed because they sell everything.

AIBU to think shops will be chaos and people won’t stay home saying “Christmas has been cancelled”?

I'm in a t3 big city and most people are rammed in shops without masks and its hard to even remember coronavirus is still a thing.
everything is back to normal for us

It’s only T4 where non essential shops have to close , in T3 its business as usually for the shops

You shouldn't be inundated.

But given how so many people are prepared to state quite openly that they are finding ways round rules or just going to ignore them, them I think it might happen

Ilikewinter · 19/12/2020 17:34

T3 shops are all open already.

Catchytune · 19/12/2020 17:42

Sorry ! I meant T3 that will now be T4.
They’ll be having to close tomorrow I think. All the Tk Max’s and M&S type places that people can get lots of gifts in.
It’s going to be chaos.
