Just had a text from school DS had a positive case in class on Weds 16th. I think he has to isolate until the end of the 26th. DH thinks he can go out on the 26th. Who is right?

Does it even matter?

I'd be on the side of cautionHmm

Sorry I didn’t mean to be flippant, it’s just I’m so bored of it all. If i was planning a Boxing Day with vulnerable people indoors I’d be cautious, but if you were thinking of a secluded walk with other healthy people I probably would thing well timers also up. Only you know what all the individual risks involved in your situation are.

I'm fed up of it all. I've got two upset children because we were supposed to go to PIL for Christmas Dinner, they are saying they want us to still go but I'm not willing to risk it. I lost my mum earlier this year (not covid) I'm not going to be risk PIL getting it. So they're saying to go boxing day instead which is why I want to be sure of the days.

I've said 27th will be fine but I'm feeling like the bad guy.

My dd got told to isolate by school on Thursday until Christmas day. Christmas day would be day 10 including Thursday at day 1 - but it was first thing so presume positive class member tested day before.

We'd already decided not to see anybody until the 27th before the new announcement but at least I don't have to feel like the bad guy now. Here's hoping next year is easier and we can get on top of thus virus.
