Ok it’s reported everywhere so another weekend ruined by speculation and worry. As a family we are all over but we’re spitting into a few one day family bubbles so no one was alone on Christmas Day. I feel like today we have lost the will to live waiting to find out if seeing family is off or plans need to be cancelled partly as some family is Essex, Suffolk and Bedfordshire. Telling dc will be heartbreaking but we obviously would still make the most of xmas day. Just the “border” might save someone being alone 😔

I'm really concerned about DCs who share custody with a parent over the border, who won't back down. They are due to go tonight. If I send to them....I'm blatantly not getting my kids back home for Christmas, am I? 😭

It's a tricky situation. I have a family member with split custody on the Suffolk/ Essex border and it could be very sad.

I think the border will be the county boundaries. How it’ll be policed is anyone’s guess - roadblocks, ANPR.

Also over border shared custody, support bubbles, childcare bubbles, caring duties 🤷‍♀️.

Does anyone know if Oxfordshire is to be included? I’m currently in a tier 2 area.

Even in lockdown children could go to both parents. That won't change will it?
2LittleSpeckledFrogs · 19/12/2020 15:11

@Hapixmas I'm just not sure if they need to stop the spread between areas.

RedRiverShore · 19/12/2020 15:24

Hopefully not up the road from where I live, which is the Bedfordshire border. I am in Northamptonshire which is the east, west tier 2 corridor now

AnneLovesGilbert · 19/12/2020 15:26

They’re saying south east and east so I think all those counties will be in tier 4?

yeOldeTrout · 19/12/2020 15:30

Why isn't OXON western England?

ElephantWhaleRabbit · 19/12/2020 15:44

Carlisle.

emptydreamer · 19/12/2020 15:52

I am another one with a cross-border custody (tier 2 to tier 4), and also sending them today for what was supposed to be two days. Knowing my ex, it really risks turning into two years.

Puzzledandpissedoff · 19/12/2020 15:52

For those who recall Yes Minister ...

"Watford Gap? Piccadilly? "The Reform Club??" Grin

2LittleSpeckledFrogs · 19/12/2020 16:08

Hugs @emptydreamer It's worrying isn't it

BabyLlamaZen · 19/12/2020 16:08

I'm assuming those in tier 3. I'm sure there will be exceptions for things like childcare.

Where is he?

RedskyAtnight · 19/12/2020 16:11

I suspect those that are dark blue or red on the interactive map (in the south east/east).

coronavirus.data.gov.uk/details/interactive-map

That takes it up to Bedford/Milton Keynes/Buckinghamshire in the northernmost bit.
