Will all Tier 3 areas have travel restricted?!

My MIL thinks so and is panicking her adult children who live in different tier 3 areas won't be able to come home. I worry it means that if that happens my little family who are tier 2 with her will be expected to go Shock we currently got out of it because of the 3 household thing but won't if my BIL and SIL can't visit 😱 Reassure me its bollocks please, I can't see anything other than London and SE and they are Buckinghamshire and Hertfordshire. Thanks!

How can they enforce this ?

It’ll be guidance at most

ChablisandCrisps · 19/12/2020 10:25

Exactly, this is what I think too but she is a stickler for the rules so if it is guidance she won't let them come 😭

I know we can just say no, but honestly it will be a nightmare haha!

Scotland have this travel ban already, Nicola claims it's "law", so we're not allowed to travel out of my area. I think it is possible that Boris can make it law but maybe it'll just be guidance.

Total pain because it means we can't even see family outside until further notice, and it's been ages so far. Most of my family don't live particularly far from me, but they are in other council areas.

My son lives in England though and is coming home for Christmas, I hope.

@RedBetty I really hope your son can make it to see you! Brew

It has been against advice since the beginning of this week I think

MoiraNotRuby · 19/12/2020 10:31

Just phone your mum and cough every so often Wink

@dialsMavis she sees it as London and SE, so if they were there she'd call it off but as far as I know they haven't said all tier 3 areas. Hopefully they will make an announcement after their meetings today and spell it out. Even if it is guidance, if they specifically say all tier 3 then I'm stuffed haha!

As pp said guidance for all is that you stick in your local area regardless of tiers. We’re carrying on as planned. At this late stage I don’t think they can make anything law- well they can but it would be unenforceable

Hope it has worked out ok for you OP
