Staying overnight on Christmas day

If you’re spending Christmas day at someone’s house already, will not staying overnight really make any difference?

(Genuine question! Not invested either way!)

As I understand it, the risk is pretty much proportionate to time together so yes will make difference to risk. But need to balance it with feasibility of getting there and back in day.

But ... We have family staying for three nights and will include cousins sharing room. Not ideal but for the mental health of a dear family member we have all agreed to take the risk as without overnight stays they would not be able to come and we have pretty much concluded that if staying for two nights they might as well stay for three despite what I said above!

I wondered that; I think maybe they hoped people would spend less time or rethink travelling if they don’t stay overnight.

If you are somewhere more than 15 mins it won't make w difference

Yes maybe that’s it - they hope people will cancel plans altogether if they can’t stay overnight?

All these “you choose” rules are frustrating and confusing!
