Have all your over 90s been given dates for the jab? I cannot understand the system as my dad hasn't even had an information as to when it could be.

My grandma hasn't heard anything either.

No, not yet, though they’re in a care home which probably complicates things. And the over 80 year old I know who’s just had it was given very little notice, was just phoned and told if they could get to hospital the next morning they could have it. I think it’s still very much a work in progress.

My uncle hadn't heard anything (he's 95) bless him and he had to phone the GP. They organised his vaccine the very next day.

Yes mine has had it

teenagetantrums · 18/12/2020 21:26

I work in a care home. We are going to hospital to have the vacince. I think it's more complicated to bring it into home due to storage thing

manicinsomniac · 18/12/2020 21:29

My grandparents (93 and 91) thought they were going to get it this week but there were some logistical issues so it fell through (over venue, I think - only know that because my cousin is a senior GP in the area and trying to organise the programme).

Mousehole10 · 18/12/2020 21:32

My over 80s grandparents are having it next week. I think it depends on area.

Lolalovesroses · 18/12/2020 21:34

My dad who is 81, had it on Wednesday, his next lot is on 6th January. He lives in Liverpool.

User158340 · 18/12/2020 21:35

My 92 year old Nan had first dose yesterday.

Soverytiredtoday · 18/12/2020 21:36

Different GP practice groups are getting approved for deliveries of vaccine at different times- some are in Wave one and have had one delivery already, others have been told they won’t get any until January and don’t have a definite date so can’t book any appointments. Also when the surgeries get their delivery they only get 975 doses to give. Many practices will have more than 975 in the first group of over 80s so can’t do them all at once. It doesn’t mean they have been forgotten. It is just an incredibly complicated process. We haven’t had authorisation to take into care homes or on home visits yet either.

My Aunties 90+ year old parents had theirs in a carpark this week! I was surprised when I drove past & saw all the vaccine clinic road signs as I thought it was hard to move & store.. why a carpark?!
