What is the public health advice in the UK.
I'm in Ireland and the public health advice for a number of weeks and last week was - if you intend to meet up with more vulnerable people over the Christmas like with grandparents - to please limit your close contacts.
I suppose, its self isolation and quarantining on the off chance you are a close contact of a confirmed case and in case you become exposed to the virus and in case you become infectious but you don't know it yet. It's supposed to help control the spread of the virus. It makes sense.
I work in a private capacity as a nanny and they have done the absolute opposite of what the public health authorities are recommending for people to do. There was two outings last week, a few more outings and gatherings and Christmas parties this weekend and the parents have more planned for the weekend too.
I'm appalled. They have plans to meet up with two sets of grandparents over the Christmas. This behaviour is coming from professionals who should know better. Not only that they are putting me at risk too of also becoming exposed to the virus if the family become infectious. The public health guidelines makes sense but they are flying in the face against the public health guidelines, one of them working in public health.
