What’s the covid cough like?

I know people might get it differently but today my test is tight and I’ve a slight cough which feels more like a clearing of throat type of cough and I’d feel stupid going for a test as I’ve no temperature, loss of taste/smell etc?

I've read people saying everything from a bit of a tickle on the throat to full on hacking up a lung.

Mine was a tickle at the start then got worse but not too bad.

DH however sounds like he is coughing up a lung.

Mine started as a tickle in my throat, then was brought in by sneezing, then got more frequent so I had a test . Currently it feels like a productive cough. Now just occasional bouts of coughing. I've lost my sense of smell since testing but never had a temperature.

Mine was barely there and I tested positive now comes back if I’m tired

You only need one symptom to test, not two or three.

Sounds similar to mine. I'd describe it as a "pathetic" cough. Little cough occasionally, worse when doing things. A bit like clearing throat but not very phlegmy.

I thought it wasn't covid but glad I tested because it is.

A new cough is a new cough according to our Occ Health department. Get tested. Better to be safe than sorry.

Thanks everyone, I think because I exercised for the first time in a while this morning I initially put it down to my asthma (which is mild). I’m immunosuppressed so I’d better be safe.

Mines been a tickle up to now very mild and hoping it stays that way.
My brothers however was awful! Full on coughing fits constantly. He's fine now thought

I'm fairly certain mine is my asthma, but OH want me to get a test anyway. I figure at least I'll know one way or the other and I'd feel awful if I went into work and gave people covid just because I'd assumed it was asthma.
