If we go into tier 3 and the restrictions start at midnight Friday...

and we have a night booked away in an airbnb on the same night (18th) would that mean it could still go ahead or we would have to cancel as at midnight we wouldn't be in our own home?
The host is being very difficult about it and basically saying if we go into tier 3 it can still go ahead whatever date we were staying, but the rules seem to specifically forbid this.

Am in Essex, am hoping we aren't going to go up a tier as one of the councillors has said the county average puts us at tier 2 status still but as the infection rate is baaaaad in Basildon and Southend and Brentwood I am wondering if we will infact end up like Kent and all be lumped into a new, higher tier.

People are saying changes will come in from the 19th.

The rules for tier 3 advise against rather than ban travel out of area, which is what the host is probably referring to

The regulations will be clear when they are published on gov.uk. Until then there is no point speculating, or making decisions based on anything written elsewhere because it will almost certainly be wrong, or ambiguous at best.
