New Years celebrations tier 1

Hi there
I live in a tier1 area and wondered how New Year's Eve celebrations at pubs/clubs would work- any ideas?

Up to 6 people would be allowed and you would need to social distance from people not in your household. So easier if you only have two households but more difficult if there’s 6 of you from 6 households!

Venues still have to do last orders at ten and close at 11, so no seeing in new year in a pub/restaurant. My fear is that kicking out at 11 will mean mass gatherings in the streets for midnight.

Just thinking a meal and a walk around the harbour would be okay. I don't like staying up a minute after midnight tbf I resent it 😂

We are tier 2, local pub is changing their clocks so they are going to pretend it's midnight at 10pm (with a scotch egg). I'll be staying at home as usual anyway, never liked new year.

Your plan for dinner and a walk sounds perfect if you're not keen to be up past midnight. We would usually go to the pub for a few drinks earlier in the evening, but we're going to have friends round for dinner and drinks instead this year.

Yeh that sounds a good plan. We’re in tier two so just going to be a night in with our friends (our support bubble) with takeaway and drinks.
