Would you have DS1 arrange a second test?

I have Covid, started on Sunday, isolating until Weds. As I understand it, the household now isolates for 10 days (reduced from 14 this week) from my first symptoms, unless they get symptoms.

DS1 started with a sore throat on Tuesday, tested yesterday (I know not an official symptom but I've had a sore throat and a runny nose, only a very minor cough). His test is negative.

It seems highly likely that he does/will have it but if we rely on this test he's back to work on Weds, assuming he doesn't get any new symptoms.

WWYD?

I would definitely get another test.

Yes I probably would. Just to add I was under the impression as you started your isolation before 14th December, when the new rules come in for isolating, you would be on 10days and household on 14days.

No, if you are on isolation on Monday, you can stop when your 10 days are up.

I'd leave it until Monday and if he's not right first thing, arrange for it to be done that morning - that way you've gone as close as possible to when he's due in.

@HallFloor thank you for the clarification. Hope your son is better and can go.
