What happened to your sense of taste?

I had a few drinks last night and feeling a bit hungover this morning so not sure if this is related to that or if it's a covid sign. I had some toast with butter and couldn't taste the butter at all. Just got a glass of water and it tastes horrible! I don't have a loss of taste but my taste is weird. Has anyone had this as a covid symptom or am i just hungover?!

Am commenting on this because I've also had a change to taste- I can taste stuff, but there's a constant horrible aftertaste in my mouth. Have booked a test but was wondering is anyone can share their experiences with regards to change in taste...

I have a positive test. I can taste and smell but, if anything, they are heightened. When I eat anything, particularly anything greasy, it leaves a horrible taste in my mouth for hours.

Yep my sense of taste has diminished as well as smell. Nasty aftertaste after finishing a meal.

Oooh crap. It sounds like me. Particularly in the back of my mouth, kind of at the sides of my tongue.

I didn't lose my sense of taste or smell, but food definitely tasted very off for at least a week. My daughter lost her taste and smell completely for an entire month.

Tea tasted a bit odd. But nothing else changed.

Just to update - I do twice weekly tests for work and mine was negative so I don't think mine was due to covid although it's still there?!

Are your tests the rapid lateral flow test? If so, I would get a 'proper' test done just to be sure.
