do I have to isolate or not? (Because of reduction from 14 to 10days)

So a colleague has just tested positive (took a test yesterday 10th dec). Her symptoms started wed 9th dec.

On 1st December, we were in a meeting for a hour-ish but socially distanced (approx 1.5m, but not facing each other). So she became symptomatic 8 days afterwards.
Not one of the main 3 symptoms btw.

Am I right in think that I only have to isolate for tomorow, due to reduction in isolation time? I am feeling fine and I have no symptoms.

No, only if you have contact with someone in the 48 hours prior to symptom onset, or swab date if they are asymptomatic

You don't need to isolate at all. It's only if you were in contact with the person in the 48 hours before their symptoms started

freezedriedromance · 11/12/2020 22:42

I thought it was only if you'd been in contact with them up to 48 hours before their symptoms started (or positive test if no symptoms)?

dementedpixie · 11/12/2020 22:42

Were you in contact with her in the 48 hours before symptoms started? If not, you dont have to isolate at all

P.s. the 10 day isolation doesn't start until Monday

Internshipquestion · 11/12/2020 22:43

Okay, thank you all! I wasn't in contact with her for the previous 48 hours, so that's a relief!

You don't need to isolate at all. Her symptoms started 8 days after seeing you.

I thought the 10 days started today 🤦🏻‍♀️ I need to follow the updates better.
