And have similar symptoms should I get another test? I have been told by GP post fatigue following covid but employer saying I should get a test

Yes if you have any of the 3 symptoms then you should test again just in case.

ThreeTwoOneGoo · 10/12/2020 17:44

Thank you. I don't have any of the 3 systems no cough, loss of taste or smell and no temp. Just aching and tired. GP never mentioned about a test

In the absence of the 3 symptoms then no i wouldn't test again then

cansomebodyputthetreeupplease · 10/12/2020 18:27

@ThreeTwoOneGoo you've got classic post-viral symptoms. Your employer is wrong.

@cansomebodyputthetreeupplease

I thought that too. I am so annoyed. I have been trying to phone all day to speak to manager and he's not there not returning calls and then I receive a message telling me to go for covid test. He obviously hasn't read my email or listened to voice message properly.

The problem with going for another test is that if you have tested positive within the past 90 days (which you have) then there is a chance the test will still show as positive. When actually in fact you are no longer contagious.

curlycat · 10/12/2020 18:58

My Dd was told she could show positive for up to 3 months. Her work wanted her to have a negative test before she went back but Test and Protect refused

kazza446 · 10/12/2020 19:01

The guidance states not to test after a positive test for 90 days as you may still be shedding positive cells which will generate a positive result. Fatigue can continue way past the initial infection.

ThreeTwoOneGoo · 10/12/2020 19:09

Thank you everyone, that's what I thought, that's why everyone else in work is tested weekly but I'm not allowed for 90 days from my positive test.

Manager not very good, he probably doesn't even know who I am Hmm

Are you taking a vitamin D supplement OP? If not, I'd suggest 3,000iu per day, but preferably get a test and if deficient, a loading dose prescribed by a GP.

ThreeTwoOneGoo · 10/12/2020 19:40

@DianaT1969 I just take multi vitamins but the Gp did suggest getting some vit D vitamins so I have ordered some from Holland and Barrett
